Glycon the Snake Oracle Short Sleeve T-shirt

Availability: In stock
Have you ever heard of the oracle of Delphi? There, the god Apollo was foretelling the future via the priestess Pythia. This was far from the most interesting oracle of antiquity.

In the 2nd century CE, one could have his future explained by a snake with human features. The creature's name was Glycon and he was believed to be an incarnation of Asclepius, the god of medicine. For a small amount of money, he and his human priest Alexander provided spectacular and precise oracles. Even Marcus Aurelius turned to them in his times of trouble.

Of course, there was a tiny possibility, that the whole thing was a scam and the mighty Glycon was nothing but a puppet. But who are we to judge?

If you find a prophesizing reptile fascinating, let the world know by proudly wearing this T-shirt.
